Adopt A Family is dedicated to uplifting children and their families Southwest of Tucson by providing essential support through community-driven donations. Our vision is to foster hope and joy during the holidays and beyond, ensuring that families don’t have to face hardship alone.
Adopt A Family Mission
The purpose of Adopt a Family is to provide grants to school(s) for poor families with children, as identified by their children’s schools, with resources to celebrate at holidays and other appropriate occasions. Grants, usually in the form of gift cards, are provided to the school(s) which then provide them to the school’s selected families and/or one or more of the children. In addition, physical items, such as quilts, lap blankets, etc. may be provided to the school for distribution. In select circumstances, the grants may be used by the school(s) for the betterment of the children.

How We Do It
We are a 501 (c) (3) and Arizona Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) focused on providing a better holiday for families with children in our local elementary schools Southwest of Tucson. The counselors at each school identify children that are most in need of support and provide Adopt A Family with the total number of children and families we can help.
For the 2024 holiday season we provided gift cards of $200 each to 24 families and $100 each to over 100 children. For 2025 we hope to raise funds to support at least 28 families.
Donations are solicited primarily by personal contact. As a QCO we provide the donors with certificates that allow them to use the donation directly as an Arizona tax credit (subject to state limitations). In addition, the donations may be used for federal tax deductions. Our 501 (c) (3) Employer ID number is 30-1363430 and our QCO code is 22725.
Donations may be made by mailing a check to Adopt A Family, 5700 W Lone Star Dr., Tucson, AZ 85713. You will receive a receipt by mail for your tax filing.
There are no paid employees. All work is done by volunteers.

Fun Fundraising 2025
Each year we hold a community based event to kickoff our fund raising. For 2025 we had Halloween themed dinner. This shows the setup.
Zoo Animals
While costumes were optional, we had some come in their native wear.
Raffle Prizes
Baskets of goodies were donated for raffle prizes. This basket is one of four that were donated.
Fun fundraising 2024
